The Nandom Municipality joined the rest of Ghana to celebrate the country’s 69th Independence Day with a colorful ceremony attended by students, security agencies, traditional leaders, and members of the public. The celebration was organized to commemorate Ghana’s independence and to promote patriotism, unity, and national pride.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), the Municipal Coordinating Director, and the Municipal Director of Education. In his speech, the MCE emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, and hard work in national development. He encouraged the youth to remain focused on their education and contribute positively to the growth of the municipality and the nation.
The Municipal Director of Education also delivered a speech, commending teachers and students for their dedication to education. He encouraged students to take their studies seriously since education plays a key role in the development of the country.
One of the main highlights of the celebration was the march past by selected schools within the municipality. The students demonstrated discipline, coordination, and enthusiasm as they marched before the dignitaries.
Security agencies such as the Ghana Fire Service, Ghana Police Service, and Ghana Immigration Service also participated in the march past, adding prestige and excitement to the celebration.
The celebration also featured cultural performances by some participating schools and groups. The performances included traditional dances and displays that reflected the rich cultural heritage of the people of the Nandom Municipality and Ghana as a whole.
During the event, awards were presented to some schools and participants who performed exceptionally well during the march past and other activities. The awards served as motivation and recognition for their hard work and commitment.
