Nandom, (UWR),
July 30, GNA – The Nandom District Assembly is on the path of exceeding its
2016 revenue target of GH₵ 98,548.00.
With an
impressive performance, the District has already collected for the mid-year a
total of GH₵ 77,783.94 representing 78.93 per cent of the targeted revenue.
Mr Cuthbert Baba
Kuupiel, the Nandom District Chief Executive (DCE) speaking during the third
ordinary sitting of the Assembly commended the revenue mobilisation
stakeholders for a good job.
He encouraged
them to continue working hard to block all revenue leakages and also explore
new revenue sources so that the Assembly could exceed its target by the end of
the year.
He said as a new
District, there is the need for hard work in order to bring development to the
people, since the District Assembly Common Fund alone could not do it.
There is
therefore the essence focus attention on the Internally Generated Funds.
Mr Kuupiel said
government is doing a lot for the District in terms of development projects and
the Assembly together with the people must double their efforts.
The DCE
acknowledged the Member of Parliament (MP) for Nandom, Dr Benjamin Kumbuor and
other development partners such as UNICEF, Care International and SNV for their
support in the development efforts.
