The 2026 Inter-District Sports Festival officially commenced with a colorful opening ceremony in Nandom, bringing together athletes, officials, and members of the community to celebrate sportsmanship and unity.

The event was graced by several distinguished personalities, including the Paramount Chief, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), the Municipal Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Sports Coordinators, education staff, and community members. Their presence highlighted how sports promote talent development, teamwork, discipline, and social cohesion among students.

The festival is expected to provide a platform for athletes from the various districts to showcase their talents while fostering friendship, healthy competition, and unity.
