REPORT ON MCE’s COMMUNITY INTERFACE WITH THE BEKYEREGUN COMMUNITY
On Friday, 3rd February, 2023 the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Raymond Nero in the company of the Hon. Assembly Member for the Kokoligu electoral area made a brief visitation to the Bekyeregun community to have an interface with the community natives. This was to intimate to understand their needs as a community and an afterwards address of them. After paying a courtesy call on some Chiefs and elders of the community, community residents were assembled to welcome the Hon. MCE as his mission was to be heard.
The Hon. MCE in his address assured the community indigenes of an immediate construction of a Kindergarten Block for the community since the contractor had already inspected site and works were to begin in two (2) weeks. He said under the sponsorship of his superior, the Hon. Member of Parliament, the KG block was to be built immediately to ease the congestion in the almost dilapidated edifice harboring kids at the lower primary.
Community members in an open forum, bemoaned the lack of portable water due to non-functioning of a borehole which serves as the main source of water supply to the community hence the need for more boreholes construction, they again requested for electricity metres to aid illuminate most homes, they asked for support for working tools, the need for the mount of a grinding mill as well as, the desired request for the provision of loom sowing machines to equip apprentices who had graduated from their field of skill acquisition.
The Hon. MCE in his final address asked all to strongly rally behind him regardless of their political affiliations. This he said if eschewed, would go a long way to realise a fast transformed municipality that would be beneficial to all. After having taking note of all these requests through his assistant, he assured them of channeling it through the Assembly and the Hon. Member of Parliament to hasten in attending to their needs in the shortest possible time.
After the community engagements, the Hon MCE in the company of party executives including; the Party Chairman, Secretary, Organiser and Youth Organiser visited the Bechinteng, Bu, Tantuo, Damuoyoro, and Buligagn respectively to commiserate with bereaved families. They paid their last respect and an afterward donations were made as their widow’s mite to support in relieving these families off some cost they would incur in the organisation of their respective funeral events.
