The 67th nationwide Independence Day celebrations were held under the theme "Our Democracy, Our Pride!" This theme serves as a reminder of the immense value and significance of the democratic principles that underpin our society.
To mark this important day, the Nandom Municipality held its parade at the magnificent surroundings of the St. Theresa's Minor Basilica Park. The convergence of all stakeholders showcased an enthusiastic March Pass, preceded by recreational activities, and demonstrated the rich tapestry of our cultural heritage.
During the event, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Raymond Nero, delivered a speech that emphasized the theme of the celebrations. He highlighted the achievements of the government and the municipality in the Education Sector, raised awareness about Cerebrospinal Meningitis Disease in the municipality, and addressed the fight against terrorism. The MCE also extended his appreciation to all development partners.
The beautiful event concluded with each of the 27 schools, spanning from lower and upper primary to Senior High School and Tertiary institutions, receiving a football as a participation gift. In addition, awards were presented to deserving schools that performed exceptionally well in the March Pass.
