R REPORT ON HON. MCE’s VISITATIONS AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTS WITH INDEGENES OF THE GENGEKPE ELECTORAL AREA

As part of the Hon. MCE Raymond Nero’s core duties to touch base with communities in the Nandom Municipality with the sole mission to propagate government’s policies and also lend a listening ear to his people in order to attend to their developmental needs, he scheduled to make visitations to the Gengekpe electoral area to have an interface with the community indigenes on Thursday, 19th January 2023.

The rousing welcome in these communities visited, that included; Borchi, Sonne, Gengekpe, Bezume, Bekyielu, Matange No. 1and Boukyire was glaring evident of his self-defined good inter-personal relations, selfless leadership aptitudes and Man of the Peoples’ qualities that is enviably-loving for many admiration.

In his message, he said government was resolute in continuing to deliver the all-inclusive Free Senior High School Education amidst the challenges the policy is currently facing. He stressed on the fact that the LEAP Reassessment just began with the orientation and training of focal persons selected from the various communities to champion the course and last but not least was the unfortunate cedi depreciation against the dollar which is affecting goods and services hence, some traders taking advantage of the situation to charge exorbitant prices.

In an open forum with the members in these communities to voice out their urgent pressing needs for an expedite address by the Hon. MCE through the Member of Parliament Hon. Ambrose Dery, they brought to fore the need for the construction of Kindergarten Blocks, Dam dugs, construction of boreholes, construction of CHPS Compounds to improve health care delivery, building of market sheds, Jobs for the youth, access to electricity in some areas of the communities, inter-linked roads construction, assisting People with disabilities among others.

The Hon. MCE assured these communities of taken keen note of all these needs and promised to attend to them in the speed of light through the collaboration of the Assembly, EU roads and feeder roads department, some earmarked projects for the SOCO Project and the earnest support of the Hon. Member of Parliament.

In his final words, he encouraged the youth to get involved and also take gross advantage of government’s Free Senior High School initiative for the betterment of their tomorrow, cautioned traders to be mindful of cut-throat prices in the various market centres, asked none not to hesitate patronizing his outfit anytime to engage with him since its open to all and lastly, indigenes should make it a conscious effort to get involved in helping build an attractive Nandom Brand.
