Nandom, once again, has received recognition for its significant impact in the Sanitation Sector. The municipality became the first in the nation to be declared Open Defecation Free (ODF) in 2019 and has now been honored with the prestigious "Special Impact Award" in 2024. The distinguished MCE, Hon. Raymond, along with two senior staff of the municipal assembly and a key development partner, SNV, received the award presented by the organizers: Millennium Excellence Foundation(MEF) and the National Development Planning Commission(NDPC). SNV contributed greatly to this remarkable achievement. The award ceremony, graced by the presence of H.E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and HRM Osei Tutu II, took place on Friday, March 1st, 2024, at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly. Nandom's remarkable progress is demonstrated by its ascent from the 147th position to the 10th position on the District League Table.
