On Tuesday, 28th March 2023, Hon. Raymond Nero as part of his official duties paid visits to some project sites in the Municipality. This was with the purpose to inspect progress of works and ensure contractors meet the timelines of the agreed projects duration. His first place of visit, was to the Vapore community to inspect the construction of a Nurses CHIPS Compound. Upon reaching the site, the status of the building was one that can be described as gradually reaching its lintel level.
Labourers on site were enthused by his presence and in his further engagement with the foreman, the foreman firmly assured the MCE of establishing a magnificent edifice to serve as an immense benefit to indigenes and other nearby communities.
He then proceeded to the KO Community to again, inspect the KO Senior High School’s fence wall construction. The establishment of the fence wall which is yet to serve the purpose of relieving the school from constant intrusion of strangers, thievery, as well as serve as a security check point, was nearing completion.
He commended workers on site for the good work done and hoped to see a final quality work execution before its handing over.
Hon. MCE made a toot stop at the KO ‘A’ Junior High School to engage final year students and tutors of the school. His word of advice to students was to be relentless in their academic strides since it is the gate way through which they can become great future leaders. He assured them of his incessant support through the Assembly and the Member of Parliament to continue producing quality students from the Municipality.
The construction of the Brutu-Ko road was met with much astonishment when he arrived on site to inspect progress of work. About three (3) kilometers of the road had already reached its first phase of bitumen. The contractors had so far done a tremendous job to the satisfaction of the Hon. MCE and some key stakeholders who also pay random visits to the site. He extended the warm greetings of the Member of Parliament saying; the Hon. Ambrose Dery is very impressed with their contribution in ensuring the upliftment of the image and status of the Municipality through road constructions.
Finally, he made a quick drive to inspect ongoing works on the Goziir-Ketuo road when his attention was drawn to an obstruction of some light poles that needed to be immediately diverted to pave way for further extension of the road by the contractor. In his company was a NEDCO official who assured him of getting that done in the speed of light to enable works to continue.
