HON. MCE RAYMOND NERO’S HANDING OVER OF A STAFF COMMON ROOM AT THE ST. MARY IMMACULATE JHS IN DUOTANG ON WEDNESDAY, 15TH MARCH, 2023
The early morning of Wednesday, 15th March 2023 had the brief visitation of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Raymond Nero to the ST. Mary Immaculate JHS at Duotang. The purpose of visit was to hand over a Staff common room to the school, subsequently went on monitoring in some schools within the circuit as well as inspected some road projects.
In the MCE’s brief address to stakeholders at the handing over ceremony, he said the1 No. Staff Common room with a Headmaster’s office constructed for the teachers was realised through the Member of Parliament, Hon. Ambrose Dery’s personal resources.
He again mentioned that, the building was followed up for its immediate construction after several concerns were raised by teachers of the school who bemoaned the inconvenience it creates when they are to prepare lesson notes, plus not being a morale booster to them since they do not have a place that they can call their own at the workplace to essentially feel like a team player and lastly, not making members of staff feel like they belong and are supported to in turn aid in improving results of students in the school.
After he had officially handed over the keys of the building to the Municipal Education Director, he urged members of staff to ensure the effective use of the edifice to help translate into yielding Staff productivity. He however, encouraged stakeholders to also help in maintenance of the building for its longevity.
As part of his itenary for the day, he made unannounced visits to some schools to monitor the quality of service teachers are rendering to students. Even though he was content with the teachers’ dedication to work, he asked for their continuous support to grooming students into becoming exceptional leaders as well as improve the examination standards in the Municipality. He however, assured them of making teaching materials among others available to facilitate a conducive environment for effective teaching.
The MCE again paid swift visitations to the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), the Electoral Commission (EC) and other subverted agencies to commend them for their good services to the people, this was to also understand their mode of operations and some challenges they face in their line on duty to be later addressed via the Assembly.
He afterwards, inspected some ongoing road projects in the Municipality. The Brutu road, Segru-Puffien Tantuo road and the Goziiri- Ketuo road extension was at its fast pace of construction with their complemented culverts.
The contractor assured him of about a one (1) kilometer road completion of the Brutu road by close of business next week whilst other road networks would reach its second bitumen stage for completion before the end of second quarter.
