NANDOM DISTRICT ASSEMBLY HOLDS ITS 2016 ANNUAL REVIEW SESSION.

In line with the Monitoring and Evaluation Plan and the Development Communication Strategy of the District Medium Term Development Plan (DMTDP) 2014-2017, the Nandom District Assembly organized an Annual Review Sessions to assess the performance of the District’s 2016 Composite Annual Action Plan on the First Day of March, 2017, at the Community Information Centre at Danko. Among the participants were Heads of the various Departments of the District Assembly, Assembly Members, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and other Key Stakeholders of the District.

In his opening remarks, the District Coordinating Director; Mr. Abudul Karimu; stated that the review session was a very important Monitoring and Evaluation tool for tracking the holistic development of the district. To be able to assess the effect of Development Projects and Programmes in the district during the year under review, there was the need to evaluate the Development indicators that were formulated in the District Monitoring and Evaluation Plan. The results of this evaluation will inform decision making in future Development Planning of the district. He therefore entreated all present to effectively participate in the sessions for the progress of the district.

Among the presentations for the session were issues from the Central Administration, Health, Education, Social Protection sector, Business Advisory Centre and the Environmental Health Unit. Please visit the attached presentations of the sessions for your study and feedback.

Among the challenges of the various sectors were Inadequate Residential and Office Accommodation, absence of directorate of some key departments in the district (Physical Planning), Untimely release of Financial Resources (DACF, DDF,GOG), Low Internal Generated Funds and Overdependence on external and Donor Support for Plan Implementation.

The District Coordinating Director; Mr. Abudul Karimu in his closing remarks therefore recommended that all should put their hands on deck to ensure a vigorous efforts in increasing IGF. He also assured all that he central Administration will Increase lobbying to have all directorates established in the District.
