REPORT ON HON. MCE VISITATION TO KO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL AND INSPECTION OF ROAD PROJECTS IN THE NANDOM MUNICIPALITY ON MONDAY, 24TH OCTOBER, 2022

The Hon. MCE, Raymond Nero in the wee hours of Monday morning, 24th October, 2022 attended to a skulking fire situation at Ko Senior High School. The seeming distress call was to invite the Hon. MCE to take cognizance of a possible fire situation at the school’s pantry.
In an engagement and a brief visit with the school’s Headmaster to the place of incident, the Headmaster described the situation as an improvised ventilated channel, akin to a chimney serving as the discharge of thick fumes located on top of the school’s pantry, was gradually darkening the walls. This according to the Headmaster, was an afterthought by the building contractor during its establishment and must be corrected else may become dire to an extent that it might cause a disaster in the near days if not swiftly attended to.
The team proceeded to inspect a previously designated kitchen area. Per the assessment, though it could serve the interim purpose due to its wider ventilation created in awaiting to attend to the main pantry matters, it did not look habitable for the caterers hence, it may have to be renovated.
Hon. MCE after inspection, assured the school officials of summoning the Municipal Works Engineer to swiftly attend to the situation to allow an estimate could be drawn for the Assembly to assist half way. He however, took the opportunity to inspect ongoing road projects in the Municipality. His project inspection was the Goziir-Ketuo road which impressively was at the stage of grading and working culverts before its filling.
The awarded contract engineers were seen on site eager to meet the stipulated project duration. They were pleased to have seen the Hon. MCE and his entourage visited to keep them motivated.
He wished them well and promised to not make his visitation a nine day wonder but a consistent one to ensure speed with quality delivery to commuters.
