ACTING UPPER WEST REGIONAL MINISTER VISITS NANDOM

The acting Upper West Regional Minister, Amidu Chinia paid a working visit to the Nandom District Assembly to interact with the District Chief Executive and staff of the Assembly and also engage with heads of departments of the district.
In an address, the acting Regional Minister called on the heads of departments to let the systems work to the benefit of the ordinary person in the district. He said both political appointees and Civil Servants are there to render service to the collective benefit of the people. Mr. Amidu Chinia said, notwithstanding the political differences among individuals in the various departments and agencies, that should not undermine the tasks they are there to perform in the interest of the people of Nandom.
He said “As far as the work is concerned, Loyalty to the state should be paramount” He stressed that the major thing that affects performance in our work environment is lateness. Productivity is hampered when time is not respected time Mr. Chinia said.
The acting Regional Minister also called on the District Chief Executive and the various Heads of departments to care about the welfare of the people they work with. He said Leaders must be willing to help or support their subordinates, to encourage them to give off their best. “If you only care about results without motivating your staffs, it won’t work” The minister said.
The District Chief Executive for Nandom Mr. Thaddeus Aasoglenang said it is imperative to work in unison to realize the vision of the President. He said since Nandom is a young district, all hands must be on deck to work with extra speed to achieve the vision and mission of the district. He said about 9 km of access routes have been created within the Nandom Township and other communities.
Mr. Aasoglenang said the development of Nandom requires a concerted effort from all stakeholders within and outside of Nandom. He said the sixteen year development plan is meant to be a catalyst for uninterrupted development going forward. He expressed gratitude to the Acting Regional Minister for the visit to Nandom.
